Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
Psalm 42:11
Longing and thirst for God, tears and questions pour out of the Psalmist, and joyful praise seems a distant memory. But the Psalmist reminds his soul to turn to the God who saves. We have a more complete picture of salvation than the Psalmist did when he wrote this. The New Testament reveals Jesus, God in the flesh, weeping in Gethsemane and bearing the full weight of our sin on the cross. Jesus is the salvation that was the Psalmist’s hope. Our Savior now lives and hope is alive in Him.
Studio Update:
I got a little bit of fabric in the mail recently! It’s super fun to see mushrooms and paisley go from paper to fabric. I pulled out my colored pencils the other day and got to play around with some black paper. And…more critters!

Sourdough Sandwich Bread
- 300g water
- 1/4 cup – 1/2 cup starter
- 40g honey
- 30g vegetable oil
- 200g whole wheat flour
- 280g bread flour
- Salt, to taste
In a large bowl, whisk together water, starter, honey, and oil until combined. Add flours and stir until combined. Cover with a damp towel and let rise overnight. In the morning, flatten the dough into a rectangle and then roll it up into a log (this helps make the air bubbles be smaller/more uniform to hold sandwich fixings). Place the log into a greased loaf pan and let rise for 30-40 minutes. Bake at 375° F for 45-55 minutes, until the internal temperature of the bread is 190° F. Let cool in the pan a few minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!

Anyway, that’s all for this month. Thanks for stopping by!
