But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9a
God’s grace satisfies because our own strength and righteousness cannot. Abraham was called by God, and God promised that Abraham would be the father of a multitude of nations. Even though Abraham was old and had no son, God provided Isaac despite Abraham’s attempts to bring it about on his own. Isaac was born by God’s power alone and was tangible evidence of God’s grace to Abraham. It was not Abraham’s righteousness or strength that fulfilled God’s promise. So, when God called Abraham to offer up Isaac as an offering, Abraham was obedient because he reasoned that God could raise Isaac from the dead. Though God provided a substitute for Isaac instead of a resurrection, it was God’s grace that satisfied Abraham through it all. Whatever situation we find ourselves in, His grace is more than enough to meet our needs. His glory and power are more clearly seen when our “strength” is not in His way. He satisfies.
Studio Update:
This month I wrapped up next year’s calendar! It’s available as a free digital download for you to print at home… and like last year, I made a coloring book to match (also available for download). Here’s a few samples of what’s on the calendar. Pop over to my calendar and coloring book to see them all (and get your own copy).
Also of note: There will not be an open house this year, so plan accordingly (shop online or send me an email).

Cheddar Sage Biscuits

- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon fresh sage chopped finely
- 1/2 cup cold butter
- 1/2-3/4 cup cheddar cheese
- 2/3 cup milk
In a large bowl or food processor, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar, salt, and sage until combined. Add butter and cut butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cheese and milk and mix until combined. Pat out into 1/2″ thickness and cut into rounds. Bake at 450° F for about 10 minutes, until golden.

That’s all for this month! Thanks for stopping by!
